Hearty Helping: The Farmers Table

If you’re in the mood for a hearty, farm-to-table meal, head out to The Farmer’s Table at the Mississippi Farmer’s Market for breakfast or lunch. The Farmer’s Table focuses on locally sourced food that is fresh, delicious, and sure to become a new favorite spot for breakfast and lunch.

For breakfast, start your day off with a classic Farmer’s Breakfast, complete with two eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or hash browns, biscuit or toast, and a hot cup of coffee. Other items include a Bacon or Sausage Biscuit, Breakfast Burrito, Biscuits with Tomato Gravy, and Greek Yogurt with Organic Granola. Nothing will satisfy your morning hunger more than a Southern breakfast from The Farmer’s Table.

If you stop in for lunch, be sure to check out the daily blue plate specials, each served with two sides, cornbread, and a glass of tea. The Farmer’s Table is closed on Mondays, but every other weekday provides delicious, Southern blue plates. Try BBQ Pulled Chicken or Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Loin on Tuesdays, Roasted Chicken or Spaghetti with Meat Sauce on Tuesdays, Chicken, and Dressing or BBQ Pork on Thursdays, and Meatloaf or Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo on Fridays.

Other lunch dishes include the Veggie Plate, Red Beans, and Rice, Hamburger and Cheeseburger, Patty Melt, Veggie Black Bean Burger, Triple Decker BLT, Chicken Salad Croissant, or a Chicken Caesar Wrap. No matter what you’re craving for lunch, The Farmer’s Table is sure to satisfy any appetite. The Farmer’s Table also offers different specials and other blue plates throughout the year, so be sure to check their Facebook page to see their daily offerings.

While you’re at the Farmer’s Market, be sure to shop around for the local products like jars of Bloody Mary Mix, Salsa, and Bread and Butter Pickles. Stop by The Farmer’s Table from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the market begins to shut down.
