High Noon Café: Hip, Healthy, and Nutritious

The Restaurant: High Noon Café is located inside Rainbow Grocery Co-Op in Fondren.

The Atmosphere: High Noon Café offers counter order service with space to dine in. The restaurant is adorned with artwork from local artists and proudly displays the many “best of” awards won by High Noon Café over the years.

The Food: I’ve heard great things about the food at High Noon Café – particularly the harmony bowls. There are vegetarian dishes, vegan dishes, and gluten free dishes. This day, the special included the meat substitute cheese quesadilla with vegetables. I had the option of choosing vegan cheese, but this girl likes her dairy cheese. It came with a side of tortilla chips, house-made salsa, and sour cream. With the first bite, I was pleasantly surprised at the enormous flavor, texture, and consistency of the meat substitute and the vegetables. I paired my dish with the blackberry tea blended with a splash of lemonade. The vegetables were sautéed and had the perfect amount of crunch to compliment the quesadilla. If you want organic, locally sourced, vegan or vegetarian dishes, this is the place you want to be. If you’re starting out the new year with goals to shift your diet and you want delicious alternatives, this is the place you want to visit!

The Service: Monique was my server and she was very helpful as I decided on my meal. She was very knowledgeable and took care to learn of any dietary restrictions or preferences I had as I considered my order. I was very pleased with
the entire experience from the greeting to my departure. I’ll be back soon to try one of those popular harmony bowls.
