Summertime in Mississippi Screams: The Crawdad Hole

Summer is finally here, and crawfish and shrimp boil season is among us. There’s just something about gathering around a table with friends to peel crawfish and munch on potatoes and corn that screams summertime in Mississippi, and The Crawdad Hole on Lakeland Drive next to Smith Wills Stadium is the perfect place to do just that.

Since 1995, The Crawdad Hole has been serving some of the best boiled seafood and crawfish that the South has to offer. What once began as a single take-out window restaurant, The Crawdad Hole has evolved into one of the most popular places to get crawfish and seafood in the Jackson area. Whether you choose to dine in and hang out in the casual dining room or take it home to enjoy, you’re sure to get some of the best crawfish in the area.

Along with crawfish, guests can also enjoy crab legs, shrimp, gumbo, tamales, and turkey necks. Of course, sides of potatoes, corn, and sausage are also available, because no seafood platter is complete without a couple ears of corn and several potatoes to chow down on. The menu might not be lengthy, but everything available packs big flavor and is sure to be some of the freshest seafood in town.

The inside of The Crawdad Hole is filled with picnic tables, string lights, and all kinds of sports memorabilia that makes for the perfect atmosphere to sit and peel crawfish. There’s something about the ambiance that makes guests feel at home and welcome.

Next time you and your friends are looking to hang out and chow down on several pounds of crawfish, head out to The Crawdad Hole and hang out with some crawfish, shrimp, and ears of corn. You’ll find yourself going back for more in no time.
