Located in the old Jaco’s Tacos location on State Street, the new tenant, El Centro, is serving up traditional Mexican dishes, house specialties, craft cocktails, and cold beer in their spacious dining room and covered patio. Next time you’re craving Mexican or a cold margarita, check out El Centro.
Kick off your meal at El Centro with a classic appetizer like guacamole or queso, or spice things up with other dishes like Mexican Street corn, Chicken Wings, Ultimate Nachos, Locos Nachos, or Queso Fundito, filled with green onions, tomatoes, and peppers smothered in a blend of cheeses on a sizzling skillet.
Of course, like all Mexican restaurants, choose from several kinds of tacos for your main meal including Asada, Al Pastor, Barbacoa, Chorizo, Vegetable, Fish, Pollo, Camaron, or Crunchy, which is ground beef. Tacos come served on hot, homemade flour or corn tortillas and are topped with fresh veggies. For a lighter option, you can even have your tacos served in lettuce cups instead of tortillas. Choose two tacos, 10 tacos, or 20 tacos to share with the whole table.
Other main courses include Traditional Burritos, Burrito Special, Grande Burrito, and a burrito bowl, or choose from several fajita options like Grilled Chicken, Angus Steak, Grilled Shrimp, Redfish, Steak & Chicken, Vegetable, or El Centro Fajitas – steak, chicken, and shrimp. For the quesadilla lovers, choose from chicken, shrimp, steak, brisket, and vegetable.
Under the El Centro Favorites section, diners will find dishes that are special to El Centro. Find dishes like Chimichanga Surenas, Enchilada Plate, Fiesta Plate, Tamales, Grilled Redfish, and Carne Asada. No matter which you choose, they’re all fresh and sure to satisfy.
If you’re around El Centro for lunch, stop by and check out their lunch selections, available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Choose the Taco Combo, Taco Salad Fajita, Enchiladas Verdes, Lunch Fajitas, Coastal Quesadilla, or the Speedy Gonzales – one taco and one enchilada with rice or beans.
Whether you stop in for happy hour or want to enjoy a drink with your meal, El Centro has you covered. Choose a classic margarita or any of their signature drinks like the Anejo Sour, Paloma, the El Centro Margarita, or a Tequila Old Fashioned. The El Centro Margarita includes tequila, lime, and agave syrup, and you can spice things up by adding jalapeno or cool it off by adding a cucumber.
Unique to El Centro is their late-night menu that’s available from 10 p.m. to close for all the night owls. Several taco options are available, as well as quesadillas, the Ultimate Nachos, Loco Nachos, regular nachos, and chicken wings. El Centro is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to midnight, till 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and until midnight on Sundays.
