Cool Al’s

Located on McWillie Drive in Jackson, Cool Al’s has been serving the metro area for 20 years now, and they are known for having some of the most unique and delicious burgers in town. The Clarion Ledger has named Cool Al’s the number one best burger, and they have also received the National Golden Bun Award from PETA for their Garden Burger. If you’ve been here, you know what makes Cool Al’s so unique, and if you haven’t been yet, you’re in for a treat.

Cool Al’s offers your standard beef burgers, of course, but their menu includes much more than just beef. Turkey burgers, vegetarian, and vegan burgers are all served at Cool Al’s, and several of the menu options can be made any of the four ways. Whether you’re a meat eater or a vegetarian, everyone can enjoy a burger at Cool Al’s.

The Cool Al’s Classic is their famous, award-winning burger that can be prepared any way out of the four options. It comes fully dressed to your liking, and you can even opt for vegan or dairy free cheese. The Chili Cheese Burger and the Deluxe Burger can also be beef, turkey, veggie, or vegan. The Deluxe Burger includes sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapenos, chili, and a choice of cheese.

Other options include the Caribbean Curry Veggie Burger and can be made vegetarian or vegan. It’s topped with a Jamaican curry seasoning, fried plantain, and Cool Al’s curry mayonnaise. For a spicy vegan or vegetarian option, opt for the Jamaican Veggie Burger. It includes fresh ginger, allspice, and nutmeg combined with black beans, and it comes dressed with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup only. Another spicy vegan and veggie option is the West African Veggie Burger, made with a blend of black-eyed peas and seasonings of West Africa. The burger is served with a side of spicy ginger tomato dipping sauce that harmoniously brings all the flavors together.

Aside from these standard burgers, Cool Al’s also offers “inside” burgers that include special ingredients cooked inside the meat. Every single one of these inside burgers can be made beef, turkey, veggie, or vegan, so everyone at the table is able to enjoy a juicy, stuffed inside burger. Enjoy a Jalapeno Burger with jalapenos stuffed inside your burger, or go for the Mushroom Burger that comes stuffed with mushrooms and special seasonings.

More than Burgers!

Though Cool Al’s is known for burgers, their menu also includes sandwiches that can also be vegetarian and vegan, salads, and chicken wings. Cool Al’s is also a restaurant partner with The Herbivorous Butcher, the world’s first vegan butcher shop. Cool Al’s uses some of their seitan-based meats and cheeses in their vegan entrees. You’ll have to eat it to believe it, but one of the best-selling vegan entrees at Cool Al’s is the Vegan Ribeye Steak. It comes topped with garlic butter and is served with steak sauce, salad, and fries. The Vegan Italian Sandwich is also a popular vegan menu item, too.

Whether you’re a lifelong vegan or meat eater, everyone can gather around the same table and enjoy their respective meals at Cool Al’s. It also makes the perfect place to try a vegan or veggie burger or meal for the first time. Each dish, no matter what you choose, is sure to be delicious and will have you coming back time and time again. Check out Cool Al’s menu here: https://www.coolalsrestaurant.org/menu
